View from my coffee cup

Happy April, everyone!

Iโ€™m sure you noticed the brutality of the past winter, but we survived it.

This morning, my coffee got cold before I finished greeting my friends at the other tables in the coffee shop. I asked what the topic of the day was, and they told me the price of our morning coffee has increased. I groaned. I absolutely must have my morning coffee, regardless of the price hike.

Costs across the board have increased, despite some people believing that only rent, groceries, clothing, and gasoline have increased in price.

Authors face a dilemma: Should we raise our book prices due to rising production costs? Should we increase our speaking fees to account for rising gasoline prices for travel from point A to point Z?

Yes, we should. Itโ€™s a wise business decision. Authorsโ€™ speaking fees and book prices should increase to reflect the rising cost of living.

Happy writing!
