I arrived in Seattle three days ago. I was thirsty from not having a “decent” cup of coffee in two days. I scooted to a nearby coffee shop, rewarded myself with a large latte and, reflected on conversations I had had during my flight. I considered the jet lag I most certainly would experience as a result of the difference in time zone and, replenished my latte.
Pleasantries aside; the woman who sat beside me in flight to Seattle opted to talked about her stresses. I sunk deeper into my window seat and pretended not to care. But I did care, and I listened as she talked.
Stress is fear raising its ugly head. Stress is familiar with our most vulnerable buttons and stress knows when to push those buttons.
Here are some things to remember —
Change your thoughts in a positive way, about what might be happening in your moment;
Nothing is the way it seems and, everything is subject to change;
Take time out of your busy day to be grateful;
Say thanks for “simple” things;
Relax;
Have fun.

Timely way to have coffee Olive. Having supported my husband this past week through minor surgery, your point on stress which says ‘nothing is the way it seems and every thing is subject to change’. Thank you for this beautiful reminder
