I was sitting in an open area, right across from a ritzy-ritzy coffee shop in Seattle, where I had just purchased a medium latte. I sipped. I observed.
“That’s a nice pair of shoes you’re wearing” someone said to me. I looked down at my crossed legs. I was wearing a pair of shocking pink shoes with shocking pink bows on them.
Folks notice things that stand out.
My thoughts then turned to writing. I considered how scary it might be for some authors to write their true feelings. Know that realistic writing is what readers are looking for. Be bold, be authentic.
