What began for me as prayers and reflections in devotional moments turned into authorship of several inspirational books. amazon.com/author/oliverosesteele29.
I will say this, my writing began in solitude. However, I quickly learn that in order to be of help to other people I must share my prayers and insights. And, moreover, if I were going to be successful, it is important for me to socialize with fellow authors; even if they (we) live multiple lives through the characters we write about. I also recognize that I must be the number one marketer of my product (books) and so I continuously seek out ways of connecting and expanding my network. I say to my author colleagues: Don’t be inaccessible, socialize and watch your writing career expand! My Blog, Lets Have Coffee, is a platform on which I successfully communicate with authors and readers alike with tid bits about writing. Folks ask me: Why would anyone want to read my story? My answer is: Your story is different from the other person’s story. Yes, every life is a different story.
In my upcoming free mini-workshop on writing Memoirs, I plan to give helpful information on the subject. I will show that a memoir needs only focus on one point in time of a life lived. Even if, for some people, writing a story that highlights a certain period of their life might be easier said than done, especially if situations mentioned are controversial, and individuals are identifiable.
Don’t be an introvert, tell your story. Folks are waiting to read it!
Note: My Memoir is titled WATT TOWN ROAD.
