I’m reading Eckhart Tolle’s the POWER OF NOW while I wait for Carol and Joan to arrive at the coffee shop. Meera is skipping coffee this morning, she’s accompanying her son to his therapist. I sip. My coffee is cold. I grimace. Carol walks in. She pulls up a chair and tastes her coffee. “You’re still reading that book?” she’s eyeing me with squinted eyes. I play deaf.
Teresa (a new addition to our coffee group) turns the pages of the TORONTO STAR and announce “Back in 2008, a woman named Edith refused 1 million US dollars, offered to her by developers, to sell her 108 year-old house in Seattle, to make way for commercial development … she’s been gone … dead … and now the wrecking crew is coming in.”
“You’re sad about an old house in Seattle?” I am looking at Teresa. “Yes, Olive … and, do us a favor please, when you go to Seattle to visit your grandchildren in August, check the house out and bring us back photos.
Stay tuned…..
